Freedom NOT Socialism

So many young folks seem to be enamored with Socialism. Yeah the precepts sound good, but how does it really work out? History has shown that not one Socialist country has lasted more than 50-60 years, most well short of that. Why?

 Let's take a look.

The government takes from those who have earned their money, and gives some of it to those who haven't earned it. In the meantime most of what they take goes to the government. Do some research on Socialist countries. Those in power live an opulent lifestyle, while everyone else barely survives.

What is the answer? How about total abundance, and opportunities for everyone?

If you take government out of the picture with it's crony capitalism, regulations, taxation, and legislation, money will flow freely among all who put in some effort. Those who are incapable of working will be supported by charities, and common good.

There is NO free lunch in a truly free society, if you don't work, you don't eat. In a truly free society everyone is a producer, and a consumer. In a totally free society everyone can attain the level they choose on their effort. Total freedom, and abundance for everyone.

Keeping It Simple

How neat would it be if we could change the world by everyone learning to follow two simple rules? That's right; if we could learn two simple rules, and teach them to our children, we can change the world. Sound crazy? Maybe, but I am going to try to show how.

Richard Mayberry, in his book "Whatever Happened To Justice?", gives us two basic laws:1) Do everything you have agreed to do,2) Don't encroach on anyone or their property.

Now, I paraphrased these laws to keep them short, but in essence, that's all there is to it. Sounds pretty easy, and I'm sure that most of us try to work within these parameters on a day-to-day basis. However, there are a vast majority of people out there who don't. These are the people that think they can "get over" on other people for personal benefit. They are caught up in the "Free Lunch Syndrome" (FLS).

FLS comes from people believing that they can get something for nothing. They are ignorant of the spiritual laws that also govern us. Truth is, we all pay for everything we ever get. Karma is the great balancer. If you cheat or defraud someone for profit, sooner or later you will be the victim. It really is easier just to earn (or pay for) everything up front; then there are no worries.

Honesty is the best policy. Let's teach that to our kids instead of fighting over evolution or banning books in our schools. Remember the basics and keep it simple. If we can change our mindset to accept these two principles -- and live them -- we can make the world a more beautiful place to live.

Like Lynyrd Skynyrd said in their song, "Simple Man": Be a simple kind of man. Be something you love and understand.

Let's Talk About Welfare

Public assistance, or welfare, came into being in our country back in the 1940's. It was a very necessary step at the time because there simply weren't enough jobs available for the population of black men. Whites owned almost all factories, and business, and there were no equal employment laws. This was supposed to be a short term proposal.

That was seventy years ago. We are entering the fourth generation of welfare families. There is a reason for this, FREE MONEY! Why do anything when you are getting free money?

However, there is a catch, when you get free money long enough; you expect to keep getting free money.

 MIKE'S LAW: Whenever someone receives "free money", that person will NOT respect the money, or the giver. He also will not respect himself.

The problem with our inner cities is that they are full of people, who don't respect themselves, or anyone else. It is bred on the free money syndrome.

 I'm not saying anyone should starve, but every able bodied person should do something to earn that money. Hospitals are short staffed; our cities are filthy, find jobs for these people! 

My sincere hope is that President Obama, will bring some jobs back from overseas, and start new programs to help our people.
